Senior Media Software Developer .Net (OTT/Streaming)
The primary role of the Software Developer will be to design and deliver content solutions in support of multiple consumer devices in OTT environments - streaming technologies, content flow, through distribution to web, console and mobile platforms (encryption/security, packaging/transcoding, licensing and delivery). The Software Developer will work closely with other backend services software developers, environment team, QA and front-end client development teams. Successful applicants will be proficient in video delivery technologies and have a background in content delivery networks and their related operational support functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for design and development of the packaging of content, both DRM and multiple streaming protocol formats through delivery of that content to a CDN.
• Make informed recommendations to improve media experience with digital rights management products, the supporting workflows, and address areas for product optimizations.
• Participate in architectural discussions.
• Collaborate with the broader Digital Platforms team including the leadership team, quality assurance professionals, designers, business analysts and other software engineers in an open, creative environment.
Required Skills:
• Expert level experience in .Net
• Experienced with Digital Rights Management (DRM) either with Microsoft PlayReady (or Windows Media), Widevine, Apple FairPlay.
• Solid knowledge of streaming media protocols, technologies and standards (streaming, compression, and transcoding): HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), Smooth Streaming, MPEG-DASH, RTMP, RTSP, etc.
• Experience with Security protocols, server hardening techniques, cryptography, PGP, PKI, SSL/TLS experience.
• Experience with developing detailed network designs, specifications and architectural plans for video platforms.
• Experience developing media applications or frameworks.
• Knowledgeable in all facets of deploying and managing a video pipeline: provisioning, logging, monitoring, and reporting.
• Experience with CDN architectures Ericsson MDN, Cisco Vaults, Verivue, Amazon, Akamai.
• Experience working with media formats on mobile, tablet, desktop, console platforms: Multi-browser, iPad/iPhone, Apple TV, Android, FireTV, Roku Xbox One, etc.
• Solid knowledge of streaming media protocols: RTP/RTSP/RTCP, HTTP 1.0/1.1, RTMP, Adaptive, SIP
• Experience with Envivio, Rhozett, Verivue Ateme, Digital Rapids, Tandberg/Ericsson, Kayak video encoders/transcoders.
• Experience with video file containers: mp4 and mpeg2-ts.
• Experience with content acquisition, ingest, and publishing functions as it relates to a video delivery model.
• Familiarity with video streaming solutions (Wowza, Evo, FMS, HTML5 media, Javascript video players, Flash Media Player, Bitmovin).
• Familiarity with live video broadcasting solutions from Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, Android, Linux.

An Ideal candidate is located in the Denver-Metro area and is capable of being based in Englewood, Colorado at Starz.
• Employees working in the Englewood offices may be asked to travel 1-2 times per year for training or to attend industry conferences.
