The Director, Program Inventory is the primary liaison for the Program Planning team with the Program Acquisitions and Finance teams representing the department’s needs in acquiring content to meet inventory needs.
• Position is responsible for evaluating movie and series inventory to determine acquisition needs and targets for the 17 Starz and Encore linear networks as well as on-demand, online and OTT platforms.
• Analyze studio libraries, select titles and window content to maintain quantitative and qualitative strength of Starz and Starz Encore linear and non-linear services.
• Model and maintain inventory strategy to support existing services and strategic initiatives.
• Work with Program Planning and Scheduling to determine movie, series and opportunistic needs ensuring content targeted for acquisition meets the needs of the network.
◦ Track acquisitions and communicate with various departments.
• Make recommendations for inventory related issues for studio contract changes and for modifications to specific titles under license.
• Analyze and recommend changes to existing channel models to address changes in programming mix and title playoff strategies.
• Act as primary liaison with Finance team:
◦ Review monthly burned inventory and free play
◦ Participate in monthly exhibition estimating process.
◦ Develop and maintain long range amortization plan for original series.
◦ Communicate original series plans with Accounting for residuals purposes.
◦ Review monthly programming forecast with Accounting and Finance, and investigate variances to budget.
◦ Work with Program Planning and Scheduling to ensure optimal usage of inventory.
• Act as lead for ad-hoc content data analysis for Programming, Sales, Research, Marketing and Senior Management.
Required Skills:
• 7+ years in an analytical role preferably in the Entertainment Industry.
• Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Business Intelligence tools such as COGNOS and Tableau.
• Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects.
• Positive attitude.
• BS/BA degree in Business, Communications, Film or related field.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience managing employees preferred.
• A passion for movies and series.
