Responsibilities
• Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency
• Provide the business with valuable software through continuous delivery. Develop high quality, secure, stable code for use in products and solutions for customers, making it easier for other developers to maintain, enhance, reuse, and localize
• Develop and maintain Unit Tests; strive to automate testing as much as possible. Ensure new code conforms to established coding standards and meets design specification. Ensure new code follows best security practices. Participate in code reviews to ensure new code conforms to standards
• Interact with customers to identify and resolve product defects; work directly with business people daily. Maintain, troubleshoot and debug code, as required. Test newly developed features to ensure they are functioning properly. Participate in developing test plans, including regression tests, for newly developed software or feature
• Ensure new code, feature or software product meets performance goals/metrics. Research and resolve defects logged by customers or QA and document all changes made
• May utilize graduate-level research and analysis skills
Minimum Qualifications
• Master's Degree (Computer Science, Engineering, or related field)
• You have 2 years software engineering-related experience
• You have 2 years of experience in each of the following skills:
◦ Participate in code reviews to ensure new code conforms to standards
◦ Develop and maintain unit tests, automating testing as much as possible
• You have at least some experience or graduate level coursework in each of the following skills:
◦ Create, modify, and test software code, forms, and script that allow computer applications to run, using technologies including: AWS lambda, AWS kinesis, AWS Redshift, AWS EC2 and other AWS Technology set; and Big Data Technologies including: Oozie, Hive, Spark, Sqoop, Java, Python and Shell
◦ Develop high quality, secure, stable code for use in products and solutions for customers, making it easier for other developers to maintain, enhance, reuse, and localize
◦ Build and integrate with Web Services like REST and SOAP APIs
◦ Manage code with unit tests and GitHub and ensure new code follows best security practices
