Job Description
KYTX CBS19 in Tyler Texas has an immediate opening for a Manager of Technology. This position will manage all media distribution platforms, technical and IT staff, facility maintenance staff, and production and operational staff.
In this role you will:
• Manage a team which supports all media preparation and distribution technologies in a 24/7/365 environment
• Manage the implementation and documentation of capital and special projects
• Manage and maintain all FCC compliance requirements
• Advise and assist in the creation of operational and capital budgets
• Assist in the technical support of critical hardware and software
• Monitor and scrutinize daily on-air technical quality
• Support improved workflows for our on-air and online products
• Attract, retain and develop technology talent; conduct performance reviews
• Maintain accurate records for equipment and its service dates including all capital equipment, computers, software, and cellular telephones
• Maintain financial responsibility for the IT/Engineering Department including budgeting, approvals, and financial reviews
• Oversee facilities maintenance, upgrades, and projects
• Compile list of fleet vehicles and oversee their scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections
Job Requirements
Here's what you need:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other related field preferred and a minimum of two years in a broadcast operations/technology role, with leadership responsibilities.
• In-depth knowledge of broadcast technologies including; IT, and Broadcast Transmissions. Additional experience preferred: Switchers, Router Systems, ENG and DSNG Transmissions, and development of staff.
• Demonstrated strong leadership, team management, and has excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated strong project management experience
• Ability to work well and make quick decisions under pressure
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule in support of a 24/7/365 operation
