Job Summary
Manages complex vendor agreements and relationships across multiple commodities. Delivers against corporate initiatives related to cost reduction, cost avoidance, and supplier rationalization. Continually benchmarks purchasing and process practices against best in class programs in order to effectively translate the analysis into action. Provides subject matter expertise and is a trusted advisor in vendor management/sourcing/procurement field.
Job Description
• Manages the relationship cycle with vendors.
• Negotiates or renegotiates new and existing agreements or statements of work, including requests for information or requests for proposal.
• Manages reverse auction generation and facilitation.
• Prepares scope documents, communication plans, and contract awards.
• Actively partners with legal teams and stakeholders to develop and execute negotiation strategies that include optimal targets for pricing, service, and quality.
• Provides thought leadership. Continually identifies and implements new opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance and proactively tracks progress towards these objectives.
• Prepares and presents business cases, return on investment models, and change management programs to stakeholders and senior management.
• Implements and measures cost savings, reduction, and avoidance programs and strategies.
• Continually refines these programs to deliver optimal results for the company.
• Responsible for vendor/supplier management. Conducts supplier rationalization and segmentation initiatives.
• Proactively reviews supplier performance and adherence to contractual terms, leads business reviews, and delivers resolution on difficult issues through effective negotiation tactics.
• May be required to perform additional duties including but not limited to the development, implementation, and management of corporate policies and compliance programs, diversity programs, asset recovery and sales, specific/targeted commodity program management, resolution of payment/shipping/reconciliation errors, BCDR activities, Kaizan, Kanban, Six Sigma models, ERP system functions, and metrics reporting in order to expand the role.
• Serves as the Vendor Management spokesperson on specialized programs and projects.
• Acts as the prime leader on large scale programs/projects that affect the organizations long-term goals and objectives.
• Travel up to 25%.
Qualifications
• 6+ years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4+ with a Master's Degree
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in a telecom, construction, or high tech commodity.
• Experience with contract creation and negotiation skills.
• CPM/CSPM Certification is preferred.
• Ability to influence and motivate others with new ideas and concepts.
• Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) experience.
