The VP of Pricing and Planning is focused on the optimization of pricing and packaging TV, influencing digital video and online display inventory - a major driver in achieving Spectrum Reach’s significant revenue growth objectives. The critical information and customer insights gained in this role are relevant not only for tactical pricing decisions, but will also be leveraged to influence the strategic direction of the company. Pricing, packaging and schedule building will enable Reach to better serve clients, more effectively monetize assets and realize greater scalability to reach aggressive growth targets.
This is a senior role that requires a leader who can work with the sales teams to understand client needs, work with the data and reporting team to build the necessary tools to meet those needs, and manage a nationwide team of pricing and planning managers and analysts. The individual chosen for this role must be able to analyze leading and lagging supply and demand indicators and scale that same expertise across billions of TV impressions on different distribution platforms across 41 States and 30,000+ high-value clients. This leader will anticipate and plan highly competitive and strategic pricing and packaging strategies to grow share and achieve revenue and yield goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Acquire an in-depth understanding of the data, sources, research and resources Reach has access to and recommend additional / new sources / needs. Insights will impact client pre, mid and post-campaign analytics.
• In concert with Sales, lead team to develop packages to meet client needs. Build an Enterprise model to deliver and optimize advanced media solutions for clients and AEs.
• Work with Marketing and Client and Sales Support to communicate the value of these packages and processes internally and to clients. Demonstrate the value of impressions and create packages that meet the needs of our customers by expanding and extending their reach across all of our networks and day parts.
• Analyze internal and external data (Polk, 3rd party, consumption data) to create, model and validate hypotheses to improve the utilization and profitability of our inventory.
• Develop and socialize dashboards to optimize the utilization and packaging of inventory and building of smarter schedules. Recommend supporting tools and strategies to automate analysis and packaging of inventory. Build the systems to automate and optimize the process.
• Based on analytics, provide insights that drive higher performance in sales, profitability, and service to our clients. Identify pricing and revenue opportunities that improve the customer experience and increase the sellout rate of inventory. Project inventory fill and sellout rates required to achieve revenue goals.
• Leverage sales performance data coupled with utilization metrics, research and industry trends to recommend optimization strategies to maximize performance and revenue on ad placements and positions. Handle forecasting and trend analysis as well as marketplace analysis to create benchmarks, establish inventory and pricing strategy across multiple sales channels and customer segments.
• Manage PPI leadership team; supporting Sales infrastructure of Account Executives and Sales Management of over 1,700 employees.
• Maintain industry awareness and presence to provide visibility and insights in developing trends across all aspects of ad operations, inventory and yield planning and management.
Candidate Profile:
We are seeking a proven media analytics leader with a successful record of delivering results in creating, launching, and implementing solutions across multiple platforms involving strategy, new products, business development and sales. This individual will have a demonstrated understanding of what Sales organizations, major agencies and advertisers need from Spectrum Reach to be successful in optimizing new and existing products/services to reach revenue goals. Specific requirements include:
• 10+ years’ of progressive media analytics leadership experience is needed. Major TV Network, Agency, Advertiser and/or consulting firm experience is desired.
• 5+ years of experience managing large multi-location teams is ideal.
• Proven track record in the design and execution of complex analytical efforts that yield innovative, impactful strategies to enhance client solutions and drive greater revenue.
• Must be strong communicator with ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and drive large scale change.
• Previous experience managing and pricing media inventory is strongly preferred.
• Record of success in leading high-performing teams.
• Undergraduate degree required, MBA preferred.
