Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Editor to join the Medical Communications team. This position is based in our New York, NY office.
Job Overview:
The Haymarket Medical Network Assistant Editor is responsible for providing editorial support integral to the development of clinical content to be published both digitally and in print for an audience of healthcare practitioners.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assist in the timely and appropriate publication of content on the website and mobile app for multiple brands
• Assist in the creation, testing, and deployment of daily email newsletters and maintaining monthly e-newsletter schedule
• Assist in the creation/writing/editing of news content, conduct photo research for slideshows, and create video products
• Post articles to CMS (including tagging)
• Support creation and publishing of print content (proofing, editing)
• Maintain Haymarket's (and individual brand's) social media presence across various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn)
• Ensure SEO through consistent use of best publishing practices and monitoring growth and performance using analytics tools (Omniture/Google Analytics)
• Maintain editorial calendar
Proficiencies:
• Facility with Microsoft Office and Gmail
• Excellent reading comprehension, listening and analytical skills, and oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Successful record of handling multiple simultaneous projects and deadlines
• Knowledge of best practices, social media, and other digital promotion strategies pregerred
• Experience with AMA style and working knowledge of HTML preferred
