JOB SUMMARY:
The Dir, HR Process Improvement is responsible for the development and execution of the HR Shared Services strategy in alignment with the overall HR and Charter business strategies. The Director will provide oversight and leadership of transformation and continuous improvement within HR Shared operations. This position will help identify, build, change and implement improvement initiatives. The Director will partner with HR leaders and HR Operations Centers of Excellence (COE) leaders to ensure all employees across the organization receive optimal value-added services that are aligned with business needs and requirements. This job will foster a team environment in a collaborative atmosphere and a strong employee-centric service culture.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop the short and long term HR Shared Services transformation and continuous improvement strategy and roadmap to adopt best practices in transforming the HR operations team into an optimized shared service model structure to enable and encourage creativity and collaboration while delivering consistent, effective and efficient employee-centric services
Partner and consult with Business Unit HR and HR Operation COE leaders to develop critical solutions that improve capabilities, behaviors and processes across HR shared services
Identify best practices for HR processes to drive improvements of current and engineering new processes that will enable optimal performance of a shared services model
Define and monitor relevant outcome-based metrics to proactively diagnose and address deficiencies and efficiencies to enable improvement opportunities
Demonstrate behaviors of a leading change agent and create an environment of inclusion by providing timely information, gaining buy-in, delivering ongoing communication and results that provide a positive impact on the culture of the HR community
Execute project management methodologies and processes to ensure consistent and standardized project execution
Manage multiple HR projects and ensure successful outcomes including, but not limited to, implementing formal business cases, establishing governance, managing resource allocation, providing status tracking, ensuring timeliness, assessing risks, dependencies and issues and communicating to senior stakeholders
Develop and maintain consistent standardized project documentation, oversee completion of action plans, centralized repository retention and regular status updates to leadership
Develop staff to take on leadership roles, lead field HR personnel and HR COE resources on key projects and initiatives, and introduce new ideas and concepts
Build team member capabilities through rigorous objective setting, clear roles and responsibilities, frequent feedback, and cultivation of an environment of accountability
Promote a cohesive team environment via open communications, team building and recognition
Ensure staff has the proper equipment and receives necessary systems, process, and training
Build, manage and motivate an impactful team focused on meeting or exceeding organization and team goals and objectives
Perform other duties as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Experience working in a PeopleSoft or equivalent HR ERP environment
Prior experience must include establishing an HR Shared Service model, change management or continuous improvement role or consulting experience related to HR transformational change
Ability to think and act strategically as well as tactically
Ability to communicate with business owners as well as technologists
Ability to dive into the details to identify root cause diagnosis and solutions
Capacity for setting strategy and leading change management effort
Experience in continuous improvement, including technology upgrades and implementation
Strong analytical capacity and expertise in communicating complex concepts
Demonstrated effectiveness in leadership and ability to effectively interact, negotiate, and influence staff in various levels of the organization
In depth knowledge of Human Resources and HR systems
Demonstrated team management and employee development skills
Strong orientation to detail; strong administrative and organizational skills
Strong written, oral, customer service and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to build and energize talent through coaching and developing others; build strong strategic partnerships and relationships, and create alignment and accountability through empowerment and delegation; and drive efficiencies by leading change
Experience in building organizational talent, driving execution, establishing strategic decisions, and driving efficiencies through effective operational decision making
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience
Related Work Experience
7-10 years of Human Resources experience
5+ years management experience in a HR or Continuous Improvement
