JOB DESCRIPTION
The Big Ten Network is looking for a HR Coordinator to join their team in Chicago. The position is responsible for onboarding of all remote freelance employees including orientation logistics, tracking paperwork and I9’s, and maintaining the payroll issues log. The incumbent will also be the liaison between Remote Operations and HR, as well as the first point of contact for Tech Managers and employees. Additionally, they will assist the Campus Recruiter in efforts to staff student positions as well.
Responsibilities
• Initiate new hire onboarding for freelance remote employees including new hire packet, crew deal memo, and retrieving sign in sheets from Remote Operations
• Track completion of FOX onboarding and I9’s and liaise with Tech Manager or employee to correct mistakes utilizing TM checklist - update the payroll issues log accordingly
• Act as HR triage for any correspondence with Tech Manager or employee regarding mistakes, questions etc. as well as maintain paperwork flow from Remote Operations
• Work closely with Campus Recruiter to staff student positions and maintain database of names
• Other duties as pertains to HR or Payroll
Qualifications
• The position requires a high school diploma or equivalency – Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
• Some HR and/or payroll experience preferred
• Great oral and written communication skills are required
• Outstanding organization and project management skills are necessary
• The ability to multitask and deal effectively with changing priorities and deadlines is essential.
• The capability to work independently, and as part of a team is required
