Position at The Occasions Group, Inc.
The Occasions Group, the preferred printing partner for all of life's events, is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and detail-oriented Business Intern who will work closely with lead individuals to assist with a variety of special projects that relate to enhancing and improving our business processes.
This individual will be responsible for tasks such as; research and data analysis, creating/editing standard operating procedures (SOP’s), along with providing feedback and implementing procedures around process workflow.
Shift Available
• Flexible working hours, minimum 20 hours per week
Responsibilities Include:
• Collect and analyze data to evaluate operational difficulties and makes recommendations to solve problems.
• Follows established modeling and evaluation processes to determine the effectiveness of current operational activities and to determine problem areas and develop solutions.
• Work on a variety of special projects based on business.
• Manage multiple projects and drive them ahead.
• Develop and implement verified processes with detailed documentation and procedural instructions.
• Various analysis and research including day to day and long term.
• Collaborate and support supervisors, managers, and lead personnel to improve steps/workflow, create documentation, and implement changes as needed.
• Execute on cleanup of process gaps and target improvements in business operations.
• Ensure that internal and external customers receive the best service possible through positive interactions via various communication channels such as voice and email to ensure orders are processed correctly.
• Compute cost estimates of raw materials, purchased equipment, or subcontracted work and labor, compute profit percentages, and add to final cost estimate for customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Junior or senior college seeking a business-related degree
• MS Excel skills required (knowledge in formulas, functions, Pivot tables, charting, linking multiple workbooks, and macros is preferred)
• Working knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint
• Provide open and timely communication
• Able to analyze, compile, and communicate data results
• Problem Solver
• Strong written communication skills (reporting and or SOP writing)
• Strong interpersonal skills; must enjoy working collaboratively with cross-functional departments
• Ability to work independently, and be a self-starter
