Job Description
TEGNA, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Human Resources Operations to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide leadership to our Employee Experience team on a variety of human resources programs, policies, and practices that enhance the employee experience and expand the HR organization’s capabilities. This role will drive efforts to re-look and redesign our HR practices and processes utilizing rigorous process improvement techniques such as Six Sigma, Lean, TQM, etc.
The Manager, Human Resources Operations offers thought leadership regarding organization and people-related strategy and execution, identifies data to guide insightful decision-making and collaborates with HR team to provide proactive solutions. This person will manage a variety of strategic and long-range HR projects in support of our employee engagement, retention, high performance, and HR service delivery goals.
Responsibilities:
• Leads Employee Experience team to deliver tier 1 and tier 2 HR support to our employees
• Provides support and training to the team on benefits, payroll, and other HR related areas to continuously improve the quality of the tier 1 and tier 2 support
• Leads the building and maintenance of the Employee Experience team’s knowledge base in HR case management tool
• Leads HR process improvement and implementation initiatives, representing the voice of the employee to make sure solutions for all employee life-cycle stages and events are viewed through the employee lens
• Improves the employee experience with employee-facing vendors by understanding the processes in which the employees interact with vendors and then making process improvements that support the employee
• Works with the Talent Acquisition support team on onboarding new hires
• Serves as liaison with Payroll for pay related matters
• Working with a variety of stakeholders, ensures the content on the employee portal is up to date with the most relevant information to support our employees
• Provides feedback to the HR Technology team on internal HR systems and how the employees interact with them
• Ensures legal compliance improvements by monitoring applicable human resource federal and state/local requirements
Job Requirements
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Must be a Human Resources professional with 8+ years of relevant experience
• 5 years of leadership/management experience
• Experience with process redesign initiatives coupled with the ability to manage change
• Must have excellent executive presence with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with HR technologies required; UltiPro experience a plus
