Learning & Development Specialist
The mission of the GreenHouse team is to enable and empower all of our band members to develop and grow faster than the world is changing. Learning & Development (L&D) is at the core of what we do, and essential for the company to stay ahead of the game. We need to learn fast and use our learning to improve, invent and re-invent. Our L&D specialists act as; trainers in our in-house development sessions; L&D partners to the business; and as project/program managers for the initiatives we drive to keep the best rock stars in our Spotify band. We know that when our people grow, Spotify grows.

We have an opening for an exceptional Learning & Development manager to join our GreenHouse – our L&D team, located in NY. In this position, you will develop, transform and deliver innovative projects and training for managers and employees to ensure that they are developing and can access professional development resources to grow. Learning concepts and understanding of behavior change will be a big part of your job. You will be managing a small team in a growing company, and be responsible for the overall L&D plan for the Americas region, collaborating in a regional and functional support matrix.
You will interact at all levels of the company, which requires excellent communication skills plus the ability to influence and be an ambassador for knowledge and learning solutions. Spotify is a company that changes fast and we are constantly looking for the best ways of doing things, and if that way can be both efficient and playful, we love that.
What you’ll do
• You will be a part of the Global Spotify GreenHouse team (L&D) and get to collaborate on
a variety of initiatives as well as work independently,
• You will lead a small team in L&D, located in NYC
• You will contribute to, plan and execute on the overall L&D Strategy
• You will manage, coordinate, evaluate and improve our L&D work in the Americas region
• You will partner with the business, have strategic discussions with sr management regarding learning needs in a region or in you designated function. You will identify and interpret business performance needs and recommend the right learning solutions.
• You will support the organization in evaluating external training providers when needed, and coordinate to get economies of scale
• You will drive, design and deliver learning experiences, may it be in a classroom, online, as a learning plan in our portal or other.
• You will enable and empower employee learning communities in our portal, and other types of peer-to-peer learning experiences.
• You will be a part of championing the Spotify values and cultural development
Who you are
• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline (HR, Learning/education, psychology)
• You are an experienced Learning & Development specialist, and have some experience from leading, coaching and managing employees.
• You are self-driven with a strategic mindset connected to the current & future business needs and how L&D will succeed in the future
• You have a passion for knowledge sharing, psychology, learning design and development of people
• You have great analytical skills and an interest for measuring success in development initiatives
• You possess excellent communication skills and can talk to stakeholders on all levels
• You have a strategic mindset when planning learning outcomes and a practical attitude when it comes to learning solutions
• You have demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects.
• You are a team player, and don’t mind to “roll up your sleeves”
• You have experience presenting and speaking to both smaller and larger audiences
• You like working in a constantly changing and high pace environment, with great colleagues.
