We are looking for a dynamic Product Management professional with experience in Data Visualization, Analytics and Personalization. Our exciting and industry-changing Adaptive Learning products are providing our client universities and their students with innovative ways to access learning material.
Collaborating directly with the Vice President, Adaptive Solutions you will be leading Elsevier Nursing and Health Education's Analytics product strategy and execution!!

The Products
The data that Elsevier Adaptive Learning Platforms collect enable us to deliver powerful insights to students, instructors, administrators, parents, and enterprise partners on easy-to-use dashboards and allow us to make student recommendations. Elsevier's Analytics provides real time insights that reach far beyond typical reporting metrics, delivering deeper interpretation of how students are behaving and performing within a learning application, actionable steps for intervention, resulting in better student performance.
You will be spearheading the continued success of the products and services that deliver these insights across all Elsevier adaptive learning products as well as working with Engineering to develop machine-generated recommendations for personalizing the learning experience to optimize student outcomes!Activities and Responsibilities
Job description:
Product strategy and roadmap
This is a lynchpin role and requires consideration for long-term product quality, customer and end-user satisfaction, and calls for a highly detail oriented individual with serious entrepreneurial drive.
Define and develop product strategy, roadmap, requirements, backlog and other supporting tools. Build successful consumer facing and B2B data analytics and visualizations products.
Set directions for using data to personalize student learning experience. Imagine and develop new products from scratch.
Lead the productization efforts of personalized learning data. Make complex and powerful data sets consumer friendly and easy to use.
Plan, build, and continually improve Elsevier's Analytics product, the metrics and delivery of those metrics through various channels.
Day-to-day product management
Manage multiple platform products. Execute successful product launches, manage successful products and drive core product metrics.
Measure, grow and improve key product performance indicators.
Increase product usage through product programs, features and functionality, ensuring that Elsevier's Adaptive Analytics product continues to produce extraordinary value for end users.
Problem analysis and resolution
Prioritize features and capabilities among competing opportunities, weighing customer needs against business priorities and return on investment. Resolve complex business and technical challenges to meet program milestones and resource or other constraints.
Understand, and meaningfully work within complex technical constructs such as Elsevier's ontology, data model, and APIs. Timely and deep understanding of the landscape for web-based, scalable B2B and consumer products.
Collaboration and communication
Work closely with Elsevier's senior management, data science, technology, design, product and content teams, and directly with strategic partners to develop bleeding edge products.
Evangelize and socialize product strategy, vision and value proposition with internal and external stakeholders.
Create and track key financial and business metrics, and conduct cost/benefit analyses for new investments.
General Market/Customer Knowledge
Passion for practical use of technology in education. Assess technology trends, and current/emerging competitors to inform product direction; utilize and gather market and industry research and analysis to inform a long-range product roadmap.
Perform market needs analysis specific to target market segments to better understand the problems and needs of potential and existing customers.
What you should bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Math, Science, or Engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years of product management experience working in data visualization, dashboard/reporting, analytics, and personalization/recommendation rules
• Business-level understanding of Web/Digital Analytics, Data Visualization, Machine-learning,
Data Mining, and Personalization/Recommendations
• Experience in a matrixed environment in a highly visible role
• Ability to put together efficacy study to form hypotheses on relationship between product usage and educational outcome, and analyze data to accept/reject the hypotheses
• Ability to tie analytics data to business metrics and vice versa to drive business outcome and develop data-driven products
• Agile and iterative software product development expertise
• Excellent oral and writing communication skills
