We are looking for a Research & Insights Manager to join our team at our Los Angeles, CA headquarters! Working closely with Designers, Product & Program Managers, Data Scientists, and Strategy team members, you will closely track our product and user metrics, own the product and growth narrative for the executive team, and help build the foundation to incorporate research-driven qualitative input to our product decisions.
What you’ll do:
• Monitor and deeply understand product and user metrics by region, demo, platform, and depth of engagement using internal and external data sources
• Identify areas of emerging opportunities and risks based on metrics trends on a timely basis, often serving as the team’s early alert system
• Develop market-level insights including market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics, with a focus on identifying growth levers
• Own the narrative and reporting on key metrics and trends to senior executives and the Board of Directors, which in turn will inform external shareholders
• Help design and conduct user research using expertise in industry/competitive research
• Manage research agency partners and projects, from scoping to delivery
• Build a process to ensure that Research & Insights is a key qualitative input into how we build product alongside Data Science
Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
• 7+ years of experience in a quantitative role (e.g., finance, strategy consulting, research)
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience with multiple user research methodologies— quantitative, qualitative, hybrid, online, in person, etc.
• Experience in accurately interpreting trends from vast amount of data as well as being able to discern trends
• Experience working in technology or social media
• Ability to structure problems and develop/test hypotheses in a logical and streamlined fashion
• Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills and experience working cross-functionally
• Excel and powerpoint expert and familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau)
