Job Description
Ubisoft, a global leader in the video games and entertainment software industry, is currently seeking a full-time Finance Manager for its Financial Planning and Analysis department. This individual will be located in San Francisco and report to a Senior Manager of Finance. This position will be responsible for the forecast and budget of Games-as-a-Service (GaaS) and Back catalog titles for the Americas as well as contact volume for customer support. The Finance Manager will have one direct report.
Responsibilities:
Games-as-a-Service Forecast
• Work cross functionally with Production studios to understand product roadmap, game strategy and engagement/monetization mechanics for GaaS titles
• Partner with game analytics team to develop a working model for GaaS titles to forecast acquisition, retention & monetization
• Compile, track and analyze events impacting acquisition; integrate events impact into models to improve forecast accuracy
• Use cohort analyses to identify trends in player behavior and measure impact of content release on player activity and monetization
• Collaborate and coordinate with sales, marketing, and other leaders to understand title potential, validate underlying business assumptions, and assess forecast risks and opportunities
• Work with sales team to analyze optimal sku plan and the price-volume-mix impact of different strategies for GaaS titles
• Understand market dynamics, business trends, and competitive landscape to provide insight on impact to GaaS games
• Prepare management reporting and dashboards encompassing GaaS performance with proactive analysis and commentary on business performance
Back Catalog Forecast
• Manipulate large sets of data to extract conclusions and improve forecasting model for 3+ year old games
• Develop key performance metrics and indicators that will help management to assess profitability of back catalog titles
• Study and report operational metrics performance for ongoing historical trend analysis
Contact Volume Forecast
• Develop and maintain statistical and other quantitative analysis methods to forecast weekly and monthly multichannel contact volumes for customer support
• Identify and analyze key drivers to volume by channel leveraging historical trends to develop intelligence for future forecasts. Compile, track and analyze events impacting volume; integrate changing statistics into models to improve forecast accuracy over time
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics or related field required, MBA preferred
• Minimum 5 years of financial analysis experience
• Strong understanding the Games-as-a-Service business and KPIs. Experience in analysis of consumer monetization a plus
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Personality which thrives in casual, fun, yet demanding work environment
• Team player that can listen and communicate effectively with client groups, analyze needs, and find best practice solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication capabilities with emphasis on communication with senior management
• Superior spreadsheet modeling and presentation skills with robust knowledge of Advanced MS Excel, MicroStrategy and Tableau knowledge a plus
