OVERVIEW OF ROLE:
This role partners with a cross-functional team to manage operations and develop and execute growth strategies, particularly marketing and acquisition-related activities, for a new video subscription business. The role will work closely with senior management and a matrix of contributing groups across the wider company.
The emphasis of the role is on audience identification, analysis, acquisition, retention and growth – through product, scheduling, partnership, marketing and acquisition and service definition.
The role also manages and is responsible for coordinating ongoing operations, media delivery, prioritization and budget management as well as customer communications, product development, ancillary content and data analytics.
The service leverages the skills and manpower, as well as the content, of a wider network organization. Therefore, the successful candidate will be an excellent relationship builder and organized manager who is able to operate fluidly in a matrixed organization. In addition, the successful candidate will have an understanding of how to grow a developing video business. The candidate must have an unfailing energy for data-driven experimentation and finding inventive ways to triangulate information where direct sources are not available and to invent successful responses to new problems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead a cross-functional team to plan and execute growth strategy for a video service
• Achieve performance and growth targets
• Oversee and coordinate marketing, marketing-acquisition, scheduling, partner operations, media ops, product development and custom content
• Collaborate with senior management to set and achieve ambitious growth targets
• Experiment with scheduling, marketing and new feature initiatives to drive key performance indicators
• Identify, advocate for and implement organizational improvements
• Develop a program of contextual or behavior-driven customer communications, in concert with marketing, CRM, and product teams.
• Drive product development and marketing priorities as they relate to the service
• Work with senior management to ensure overall network strategy informs, and is informed by, the development of the subscription businesses
• Manage and report on an expenses budget, and develop revenue forecast models
• Ensure quality of customer experience at all touchpoints
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 10+ years experience in media, consumer subscription business, or a related field, in a marketing, operations or management capacity, preferably including experience with the pay TV ecosystem (cable, telco & satellite)
• Proficiency with analytics, KPI specification, and developing a data-driven marketing strategy
• Intuitive understanding of consumer behaviors in content consumption and fandom around particular IP
• Top-level communication skills with the ability to seamlessly coordinate the efforts of a diverse range of business stakeholders.
• Experience developing new processes and seeking improvements in efficiency and operational resiliency.
• Experience with project management and budget management required.
• Experience or comfort with accounting and financial modeling is beneficial.
