Job Description
Overview: We are seeking a VP of Account Finance on our Account Management team, who will be responsible for managing enterprise budgets, and financial operations and infrastructure across business units. This includes holistic budget reporting, client revenue forecasting and ensuring timely accounts receivables and payables, while working in close partnership with Agency Relations, Operations and Data & Engineering teams. The VP of Account Finance must be exceptionally proactive and talented at fostering collaborative relationships with internal and external client stakeholders.
On the financial side, the VP will lead reporting, analytical efforts, and operational processes work, supported by two direct reports as well as day-to-day budget owners, in order to achieve internal and external client deliverables.
On the technology side, the VP will work closely with the Data & Engineering team (who oversees the organization’s database administration and IT needs) for required infrastructure changes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the governance of all financial planning and controls for their respective clients
• Lead the budget management of all client accounts, providing day-to-day teams with processes, timelines, tools and support to ensure effective budget management and reporting
• Responsible for overseeing the production and delivery of timely and accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting across the full account
• Work with Client Finance, Accounts Receivable and Investment Buyers to ensure on-time invoicing and payments for all fees and media, and that all other financial obligations by clients are being delivered as contracted
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures such as accruals, reconciliations and adjustments
• Ensure appropriate agency revenue is recognized and accurately forecasted for the year
• Direct the effective operations of internal financial programs and procedures; proactively work to find efficiencies and maintain productive relationships with both internal and external clients
• Liaise with the technology department to ensure systems are in place and functioning properly at all times, and collaborate on any enhancements needed for key reporting
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with company executives in matters related to financial planning, forecasting and control
• Effectively manage and guide the Account Management Finance team to reach their professional goals along with the departmental goals
Requirements:
• 9+ years of Accounting/Financial experience with progressive levels of responsibility; media and advertising agency experience required
• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance; MBA a plus
• Demonstrated experience leading and motivating others
• Demonstrated strong business acumen and capacity for fiscal responsibility
• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills
• Approachability; able to develop a positive rapport with staff across the organization
• Communicates effectively, shares information, listens and involves others, clearly conveys ideas in a manner that engages others and helps them understand and retain the message
• Able to structure and process qualitative or quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions from it; exhibits a probing mind and achieves penetrating insights
• Coordinates project activities, is experienced in project management; plans for and assigns tasks and resources appropriately
• Demonstrated capacity for effective leadership and willingness to assume greater responsibility
• Advanced Microsoft Office critical; and knowledge of MediaTools, Media Ocean (Prisma) a plus
• Ability to make recommendations to resolve problems or issues effectively, by using judgment that is consistent with Agency standards, practices, policies, procedures, and/or regulations
