Sales Associate - Vintage
We are seeking a Sales Associate to work closely with the Barnes & Noble National Account Manager on all aspects of sales for Vintage Anchor Books and Vintage Español. The role will also work closely with the whole B&N team to identify and maximize sales trends, category trends, and market share opportunities in both print and eBook titles. Specific responsibilities include:
1. Working with the National Account Manager to prepare and research all relevant frontlist and backlist titles for monthly account sell-in.
2. Planning all backlist and frontlist merchandising and promotions for stores, online, and Nook.
3. Working with the National Account Manager to present Vintage titles to B&N.
4. Attending regular meetings for the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group including, but not limited to, imprint launch, marketing, title opportunity, and sales conference meetings.
5. Working closely with the Vintage imprint on title development and strategy.
6. Running sales reports and analyzing sales trends and market share opportunities for all adult publishers.
7. Supporting the National Account team on weekly ebook analysis in a way that clearly demonstrates an understanding of eBook opportunities, trends, and account promotions.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years of book publishing experience, sales experience a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills
• Strong follow up skills
• Highly organized, with the ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Proactive with the ability to work well under pressure
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to travel up to 10% by car, train, or plane within the domestic U.S.
