Summary
The Director, Media will report to the VP, Student Acquisition, and is principally responsible for leading a team of marketing professionals that deliver the direct to consumer marketing of the organization's services and/or products which may include traditional advertising (radio, TV, outdoor), digital media marketing (paid social, earned social, SEO, PPC, email, affiliate, etc.), web conversion optimization, and creative services. The Director, Media will oversee all components of the marketing life cycle and or channel. This is a Senior/Management level position, which requires expert knowledge and little to no instruction.
General Responsibilities
• Align media department objectives with company objectives to achieve and exceed goal metrics.
• Lead media planning and purchasing to ensure optimized media mix.
• Oversee the execution of plan(s) and communicate results to senior management.
• Advocate strategic marketing initiatives.
• Establish strong relationships with internal departments, business units and external business partners (e.g. Account Management, Finance, Recruitment Services, Student Support and Program Services) to facilitate seamless interaction and execution of marketing agenda.
• Provide high-level leadership to the media teams that:
◦ Help to identify, analyze/execute new and potential product/services, markets, and advertising opportunities.
◦ Collect and analyze data on established and prospective customers, competitors, and marketing channels/sources.
◦ Prepare reports that interpret consumer behavior, market opportunities/conditions, marketing results, trends, and investment levels.
◦ Investigate & evaluate marketing methods, consumer insights, advertising channels, and their results in an effort to continually improve results.
◦ Prepare & present materials/findings both internally and externally for the marketing focus/channel he or she supports.
◦ Provide insights which facilitate the development of plans for partner promotion.
• Responsible for resource planning and management including hiring, training, coaching, developing, objective setting and performance management.
• Develop a positive environment and contribute to the organizational culture.
Qualifications
General Qualifications
• 4-year degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent discipline OR appropriate combination of experience and education.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive management positions working in a corporate environment with an emphasis in media and marketing.
• Proven experience in digital media marketing for lead generation, channels, sources, best practices and KPI’s.
• Demonstrated experience managing budgets, projections and strategic planning processes.
• Proficiency with managing successful marketing campaigns with a direct impact on the attainment of company goals for revenue and market share growth.
• A proven, adept people manager who can foster talent and professional development.
• Experience in marketing online education to students highly preferred.
• Ability to perform up to 35% non-local travel.

Supervises a team of Directors.
