Our Opportunity:
The Staff Accountant position is a full-time, salaried, administrative position. Experience should include knowledge of Accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll Process, Budgeting, Forecasting, etc. Must also have significant experience with all Microsoft Office applications, in particular, Excel. This individual will be responsible for the following:
Payroll
• Perform the payroll data entry and template preparation for each payroll type: weekly, bi- weekly, and semi-monthly
• Respond to employee inquires for payroll records
• Assist in preparation and distribution of Check Stubs, W-2's, and 1099's
• Assist in preparing payroll journal entries and vacation accrual journal entries
• Develop ad-hoc financial and operational reporting, as needed
• Work closely with HR to ensure benefits and other similar payments/reimbursements are accurately calculated/reflected for employees
Accounts Receivable
• Process the billing, payments, and follow up on delinquent accounts with Account Executives
• Perform ad hoc account analysis and research
• Coordinate with a third-party collection agency on uncollectable accounts
• Prepare adjustment and refund paperwork.
• Update and maintain all customer information
General Ledger
• Perform account analyses, research and make journal entries for month-end close.
• Produce monthly financial statements/reports and distribute.
• Respond to Department Heads’ inquiries regarding financial statements and ad-hoc reports.
Forecasting/Budget
• Assist Business Department with forecast, including preparing weekly forecast updates
• Assist Business Department with Budget Process, including working with departments to analyze and develop budget amounts.
Other Duties
• Prepare monthly sales commissions during the month-end closing process.
• Calculate subsidies and assist in preparing related accruals/journal entries.
• Assist in preparing files, including maintaining the trade files, preparing monthly usage logs and new contracts.
• Assist the Business Department with approving orders, setting up new clients, etc.
• Assist with other projects and duties as needed
Qualifications/Requirements:
This individual needs to have a strong understanding of the accounting processes, up to and including, financial statement preparation. In addition the following is required:
• Accounting degree, preferably 4 year, or 2 year with 2+ years experience in the accounting field.
• Extensive knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office software, including Outlook
• Ability to work efficiently and quickly through tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Extreme attention to detail

• Ability to work under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.

• Prior radio experience is a plus!
