PRHPS Sales Assistant
The Penguin Random House Publishing Services team is seeking a sales assistant to provide support to an associate sales director and sales manager. The sales assistant will work primarily with Penguin Random House sales and marketing liaisons, as well as publishing operations and digital customer operations teams, to resolve client questions and concerns. This role is ideal for someone who is interested in learning more about the publishing process and has a desire and willingness to seek increased responsibility and grow within the department.
Responsibilities
• Assist sales managers with day-to-day client queries
• Collect and maintain seasonal materials for publishers, including: comp titles and estimate due dates, alerting publishers of final estimates; sending metadata and sell-in material sweeps
• Maintain seasonal meeting materials for all publishers; reminding publishers of due dates and meeting dates/times; tracking receipt of agendas, TI sheets, and presentations from publishers and maintaining accuracy of title information
• Managing and announcing drop-in titles
• Provide regular sales reporting to clients and sales managers
• Collaborate with other assistants to ensure coverage for setting up and running WebEx meetings
• Distribute advances and sales materials to reps as requested
• Manage gathering and sharing sales rep feedback with client publishers
• Help create and update documentation about processes and best practices for the imprint sales team
Requirements
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work both independently and collaboratively
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter with enthusiasm and ability to take initiative
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Experience in publishing or bookselling a plus
