Lighting and Compositing Artist (In-Game Cinematics) - Temp
Blizzard Entertainment is looking for an exceptionally skilled Lighting and Compositing Artist -Temp, to join its In-Game Cinematics team. This position requires a creative yet pragmatic, sequence-focused mindset, infused with a technically proficient approach to shot composition. Sequence and shot development is highly collaborative, requiring personal vision and the ability to match existing and established art direction from Blizzard IP. Your Typical Work Day:
• Collaborate with the project director and sequence leads to light and composite Blizzard In-Game Cinematics.
• Engage your ability to take art direction to the next level through creative improvisation and technical innovation.
• Partner with art and tech leads to actively identify any issues that might dilute your awesomeness.
• Have a sequence-centric mindset while you help create emotionally engaging content.
• Swiftly craft dynamic environmental and character concepts that fit an IP’s aesthetic, based on existing assets.
• Help promote an open and sharing environment by assisting in style guideline documentation, and assist creation and implementation of new workflows.
• Ability to keep up with the fast pace of our nimble in-game cinematic production schedule
Your Professional Background and Experience:
• 3+ years of professional experience as a compositor on AAA entertainment products, including film and TV.
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe After Effects
• Proficiency in Photoshop
• You have gained thorough understanding of how to enhance emotional impact through mastery of light and color within a production environment.
• You are a phenomenal teammate who loves a fun, uplifting, and dynamic work environment.
Pluses:
• Production background using Nuke
• Experience with 3dsmax, Maya, 3rd party lighting tools
• You love keyboard shortcuts and can’t envision life without them
• Production experience lighting with real-time engines or full-CG animation pipeline
• Cinematography-related experience: understanding of camera functions, DI experience, photo-retouching background
• Passionate gamer with experience playing a wide range of games; particularly Blizzard IP
