TECHNICAL PRODUCT MANAGER
Who We Are:
The Core Technology Products group is a centralized product development organization within 2K supporting publishing and studio teams in delivering award-winning AAA gaming franchises like Borderlands, XCOM and Sid Meier’s Civilization.
Our current mission is two-fold:
• Deliver online services, which drive user engagement throughout a game’s lifecycle.
• Maximize return on investments in production and development tooling across 2K.
To achieve that mission, we fill our team with people who are passionate about building enterprise-class online technologies and delivering tooling that delights our customers.
What We Need:
Our team is extremely lean and our technical product managers are expected to perform across what are often distinct disciplines in the software industry: product, project and program management. As a result, a Technical Product Manager needs to be an experienced jack-of-all-trades, with both the technical and business acumen to identify and translate technology opportunities into solutions that deliver business value and delight partners and customers, all the while maximizing return on investment and being ultimately responsible for success or failure.
What You Will Do:
Leadership
• Participate in establishing and innovating product management best practices and its application across relevant groups and work streams.
• Prepare, maintain and regularly present plans that proactively communicate strategy, roadmap and progress to key stakeholders for products you manage.
Product Management
• Translate business objectives and opportunities into a product development strategy and roadmap, then lead and successfully execute on that strategy.
• Oversee product management of multiple products, balancing investment and priorities based on a shared engineering resource pool.
• Oversee development of business requirements that ensure customer needs are translated into software solutions that deliver on those needs.
• Leverage competitive analysis, market research and intuition to identify opportunities and collaborate with partners to design solutions and execute on them.
• Define, prioritize and measure KPIs and ROI against the product roadmap, including establishing and communicating relevant insights to facilitate decision-making process in future investments.
Project and Program Management
• Implement the operational activities necessary to effectively solve problems including development of systems, communications and processes
• Lead cross-functional projects that involve stakeholders across a variety of organizations including production, web marketing, brand management, comms, legal, customer service and QA.
• Manage day-to-day software development project management responsibilities including SCRUM, release management and partner syncs across globally distributed engineering teams
Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit:
• Significant experience in the development and delivery of software as a service in both a Product and Project Management capacity
• Experience in influencing and driving alignment at all levels of an organization; both internally and externally
• Experience in working with and managing external, off-shore engineering resources
• Experience in driving modern software engineering practices including Agile / SCRUM
• Background in client/server software engineering or a demonstrable understanding of SaaS architectures
• Background in or passion for designing user-friendly interfaces; either programmatic or graphical
• Strong strategic and analytical thinker with exceptional execution and problem-solving capabilities
• Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
