Our Consumer Electronics Division - Engineering (CEDE) team has an exciting opportunity to join their growing team as the Manager of License Compliance. This leadership role will build and execute the Consumer CEDE license compliance and adjacent processes. A proactive, progressive, and customer centered approach will result in process that efficiently and effectively integrates license requirements into the product development process. This role will understand the end to end license agreement and specification life-cycle.
Strong license experience that balances the business and technical requirements is paramount. Must demonstrate ability to partner with adjacent stakeholders (Legal, project teams, CE Software and Systems Group, Continuing Engineering). Through internal and external benchmarking, there is established clarity on best in class and an actionable and timebound roadmap to get there.
The role will also serve as primary interface to CEDE Ops and the Legal organization. By understanding Legal needs, the candidate can effectively fulfill the requirements or work with the broader organization to develop an appropriate process to deliver.
As a visible and active advocate of the CEDE Operations organization, strong customer orientation and high service levels are a pre-requisite. Soft influence and communication skills are required for daily interaction across key stakeholders through senior leadership levels. The role requires capability to work effectively in a large organization and carve a way forward. This role is a hands on, working position that can effectively mix the credibility of building and run the tools with management skills necessary to effectively lead and enable a team.

What you do (Key Objectives):
Take a leadership role in building, executing, and governing the CEDE license management and adjacent processes through collaboration with the key stakeholders and supplier relationship owners throughout CEDE. As an individual contributor and manager you will develop process to 1) work with the upstream team to understand incoming license requirements and royalty exposure 2) understand and interpret specification 3) articulate these requirements the stakeholders , teach and coach to the engineering project teams 4) Responds to customers, authority, legal, inquiries and initiates breaches are addressed through the CIE team 5) develop reporting and process needed for royalty accounting and license management
This role will be hands on to actively address open system and business process issues, coach, and teach local stakeholders and their team in the tools and process. Deliver a system that ensures standard and consistent practices across CEDE along with visible management through license dashboards that provide value to the business and key stakeholders. Build a licensing operations team with capability and capacity mix to address current and future. By building internal advocacy and a user community, this role will be sought after as a leader across the company in this space.
Act as the primary interface to Legal for CEDE Operations. Document and improve all processes related to these interactions. Interface with your peers across CEDE Operations to enable your joint success

Job Requirements:
• Business or Technical Degree
• 5-10 years of experience. Experience with commercial licenses in CE space (MFI, Bluetooth, Dolby) in a product development environment.
• Leadership experience working and improving processes in a product development environment
• Proven ability to build strong business process from architecture to implementation aligned to a fast paced, agile environment. Able to work across functional silos to provide solutions that drive optimal benefit for the business and for Bose
• Proven ability and track record to build, coaching, and teach strong team members and teams. Enable teams to reach their fullest potential and in a mindset that they can do more than they ever thought possible.
• Strong technical and communication skills (verbal and written), influence, and conflict management skills a must
