Job Description and Responsibilities:
Wynn Resorts is the recipient of more Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Awards than any other independent hotel company in the world. Wynn Las Vegas opened on April 28, 2005 and was once again named the best resort in Nevada on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2018 “Gold List,” a title received for the tenth time. Wynn and Encore Las Vegas feature two luxury hotel towers with a total of 4,750 spacious hotel rooms, suites and villas, approximately 192,000 square feet of casino space, 21 dining experiences featuring signature chefs and 11 bars, two award-winning spas, approximately 290,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, approximately 103,000 square feet of retail space as well as three nightclubs, a beach club and recreation and leisure facilities. In addition to two luxury retail esplanades, a Strip-front expansion, Wynn Plaza, is currently under construction and is scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 2018.
The Public Relations Specialist is responsible for supporting PR efforts across all business units at Wynn and Encore Las Vegas.
Job Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and recommend media opportunities for the resort.
• Monitor editorial calendars
• Develop and maintain relationships with journalists across a variety of platforms including print, radio, broadcast and digital.
• Monitor Wynn Resorts media presence to ensure that published information is accurate and relevant.
• Assist with generating location agreements for on property filming/ photo shoots.
• Assist with staffing onsite filming activities and press events to ensure brand alignment; must be willing to work nights and weekends as requested.
• Conduct resort tours and assist in facilitating media familiarization trips.
• Maintain a comprehensive award/ accolades calendar and submit applicable applications.
• Update and maintain current media lists.
• Assist PR managers with crafting targeted pitches, story angles, media strategies and campaigns.
• respond to reactive media leads and inquiries in a timely manner.
• Assist with creating social media content.
• Draft and disseminate press releases, media advisories and press kits.
• Update media website with timely and relevant materials.
• Generate clip reports for individual business units.
• Secure reservations for all media visits.
• Assist with managing vendor contracts.
• Answer phones and manage general public relations email inquiries.
• Manage print and digital archives.
• All other tasks as assigned by PR Managers and PR Director.
Job Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications or a related field.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of local, regional and national print and electronic media.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong managerial skills.
• Must be detailed oriented and have strong time management skills.
• Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
