The Commercial Director has a senior role in shaping Elsevier Clinical Solutions group's strategy and growth agenda. The Director is responsible for setting the go to market strategy and strategic solutions agenda for covered portfolio.
The Director will lead the development of the portfolio strategy, including: synthesizing market and competitive information across multiple sectors, analyzing industry trends and customer needs, and developing recommendations that will accelerate growth in revenue and margins through investments or operational improvements.
This is a senior role that will report to, and work closely with, VP Commercial.
Responsibilities
Specifics of this position may include:
• Segmentation: understand existing customer base to drive portfolio expansion and map white space for new business wins
• Develop positioning for Elsevier's Clinical Solutions group's solutions including all go to market aspects
• Partner with product and content teams to deliver market leading solutions to customers ? Work closely with marketing to define marketing plan, sales to drive renewal and new business wins and customer engagement to maximize utilization and customer happiness
• Define delivery channel strategies with various vendors
• Participate in key sales meetings
• Define long term product and market strategy and support Elsevier strategy development for the segment
Qualifications
• More than 10 years of overall experience, with at least 3 in a client-facing commercial roles
• Experience leading complex enterprise solutions and teams
• Comprehensive understanding of digital technologies and adult learning principles
• Proven Healthcare industry expertise with experience building business cases and communicating client-specific value proposition and establishing yourself as a trusted advisor
• Leading discussions with business and technical decision makers
• Experience coordinating Sales team members to develop sales scripts, discovery process, best practices, sharing expertise/training and guiding solution development.
• Must be open to travel
• MBA is not required but an advantage
• Health degree (BSN, MSN) is not required but an advantage
• Sales experience is an advantage for this role
