Job Description
Ubisoft Entertainment, a global leader in the video games and entertainment software industry, is currently seeking a full-time Senior Business Planner for its Retail Planning & Analysis department. The position is based in San Francisco, CA and will report to the Retail Planning & Analysis Manager. This individual will be assigned to support one or more top retail accounts in an analytical, reporting and strategic business planning role.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and report on overall trends and performance of Ubisoft titles at key retail accounts.
• Forecast demand for new launches and catalog titles while understanding impact from replenishment parameters, seasonal trends, markdowns and marketing/promotional activities.
• Apply inventory management best practices to optimize sales and inventory levels and to continue to improve retail reporting processes.
• Create and maintain annual business plan for major accounts that include forecasting of key metrics related to sales, inventory and profitability.
• Identify business opportunities by understanding product lifecycles, profitability measures, retailer assortment needs, and the competitive landscape.
• Provide actionable insights and category analysis to internal teams and retail partners using a combination of internal, retailer and market-level data.
• Incorporate financial modeling, situation analysis and problem diagnosis to support business decisions.
• Lead special ad hoc projects when requested by upper management.
• Occasional travel required.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree with coursework in statistics, math and/or business required; MBA a plus.
• Candidate must show strong analytical skills, preferably with at least 3 years of experience in retail planning on the vendor or retailer side.
• Experience with the development of merchandise plans and joint business planning (JBP) preferred.
• Ability to understand and interpret retail and market data, develop actionable reports and analytics, and identify business opportunities.
• Ability to interact with retail clients in a professional manner, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work efficiently under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Must have expert skills with MS Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
• Experience with retail data systems such as Retail Link and MicroStrategy preferred.
• Familiarity with Business Objects a plus.
• Passion for video game industry a plus.
