Job Summary:
The Sales Planner position serves as the main support system for the TV sales teams and Revenue Management and Client Services. Planners support advertiser strategies, coordinate weekly business activity, troubleshoot commercial inventory issues, manage liability, build TV campaigns and research marketplace intelligence. Sales Planners must be able to become experts on the pre-sale sales process to communicate effectively with various teams across ESPN’s sales organization, as well as build and maintain external relationships resulting in superior customer service of each assigned account.
Responsibilities:
• Partner and support with sales managers, account executives and Revenue Management and Client Service management on the pre-sale stage of advertising sales campaigns
• Develop, create and maintain sales proposals driving revenue through strategically packaging all ESPN Networks
• Steward major buys by analyzing campaign delivery and managing preparation of make-goods
• Serve as a liaison to programming, coordinating schedule and program changes and updating planning management
• Drive communication between multiple internal departments relative to advertiser deal points, ensuring an efficient and timely implementation process and delivery
• Communicate effectively in order to properly deliver proposals, revisions, answer questions, and fulfill any and all day to day requests all the while maintaining world class customer service internally and externally
• Assist the marketing teams in proposing creative elements in campaign proposals
• Ensure accuracy of all internal reporting for your assigned accounts by regularly updating ordered/held/working status, liability, flight and programming changes
• Provide marketplace intelligence by proactively reading the trades, building external and internal relationships
• Exhibit professional excellence at all times and approach work with passion and positivity
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 1 year prior agency, network or media experience
• Experience with account management and client service within a TV or Digital environment
• Advanced Computer skills required, with a focus on Excel
• Working knowledge of Media Math
Required Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree
