Overview
WTKR is recruiting for a web producer to join its news team.
The primary focus of the Web Producer is to create and write news content for WTKR.com and social media platforms.
Responsibilities
• Create, write, and manage the online content of WTKR.com and News 3's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube accounts while maintaining a current awareness of local, national and international news.
• Take still pictures and video and edit them for use online.
• Assist anchors, reporters and broadcast producers with website needs.
Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge Skills & Abilities
• Self-motivated with acute attention to detail
• Excellent writing and copy-editing skills
• Strong computer skills
• Sound news judgment
• Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Outgoing personality with willingness to appear on camera if needed
• Able to work as part of team but also able to make decisions and work independently
• Previous newsroom experience preferred
• Previous online news experience preferred
Education Requirements:
A four year college degree is required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to spell, type and use a range of computer and production equipment.
