Blue Man Productions seeks a FT Special Events Sales Manager for the newly established Special Events division. The Sales Manager will cultivate relationships with entertainment buyers to position Blue Man Group as a compelling corporate and private entertainment option. They will have vast industry relationships with access to booking agents and agencies both domestic and international. The Sales Manager will use their knowledge and network of contacts to generate excitement in the industry with the unique brand of entertainment that Blue Man alone can provide. They should build and maintain working relationships with internal and external partners and leverage these relationships to promote Blue Man Group. The Sales Manager will develop a non-exclusive
agency relationship, respond to cold inquiries, and continually pursue new partners that can drive revenue. Key responsibilities include account management, business development, market research, sales prospecting, and customer relationship management.
The Sales Manager should be steeped in industry trends and fluctuations in order to develop a competitive and successful business. An awareness of competitor pricing structures is an integral aspect of achieving success. The Sales Manager should be an active member of the event industry and pursue new market opportunities to increase event sales.
The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal, customer relationship management, and communication skills. They should be polished and articulate and use these skills to manage client relationships. A meticulously organized self-starter with the ability to juggle multiple projects at once. Acute attention to detail, strong presentation skills, and aesthetic sensibilities. Experience in event programming, planning and strategy, as well as hands-on execution. Have a multitude of contacts, from talent bookers to event vendors to tap into, both locally and internationally. Experience in managing vendor contracts, agreements, and coordinating with freelancers. Previous experience in booking high-profile talent for public engagements is required. Flexible and communicative, with strong interpersonal skills with all levels of management. Occasional nights, weekends, and travel may be required. Minimum 5 years of professional experience required.
