Job purpose
• Procurement management is at the heart of the Liberty Global Business strategy, focusing on a total external spend/purchased value of 8 billion Euro in Liberty Global, covering direct and indirect.
• The Local Category Lead (Director OR Senior Manager Procurement) manages the local sourcing activities for a category by executing the Tendering & Supplier selection, Contracting & Implementation and Contract & Supplier Management activities for the local spend and supporting them for the global spend.
• Ensure proper contracting for new and updated contracts and proper contract management for current contracts for local spend and support the contract management activities for the global spend
• Ensure proper supplier commercial relationship management for local suppliers and support the strategic relationship management for all suppliers
Key Accountabilities
Four result areas: Sourcing, Contracting, Contract management, Supplier Relation management
Sourcing and contracting for Local spend:
• Develop commodity sourcing strategies based on our long term business needs and deep industry knowledge – aligned with global commodity strategies.
• Responsible for:
◦ Results Planning & Recognition activities
◦ Spend & Demand Analysis
◦ Supply Market Analysis activities
◦ Sourcing Strategy Development activities (1 year and 3 year plan)
• Accountable for Tendering & Supplier selection, Contracting & Implementation and Contract & Supplier Relationship Management activities
• Realise of the Category contribution to the overall savings targets
• Optimize between risk – cost – flexibility/quality
• Enable additional top line growth by shortening lead times, select best quality solution Return on investment
• Improve cash flow by vendor financing and payment conditions
• Responsible for Contract Management activities
• Support the execution of the Contracting & Implementation activities
Sourcing and contracting For Global spend:
• Support Results Planning & Recognition activities
• Support Tendering & Supplier selection and Contracting & Implementation
Contract Management
• Ensure proper contracting for new and updated local contracts and proper contract management for current contracts for local spend and support the contract management activities for the global spend.
Supplier Management::
• Responsible for Supplier Relationship Management activities related to the commercial relationship
• Support the Supplier Relationship Management activities for global suppliers.
Capability Development:
• Coach and train a group of commodity managers to develop the required sourcing skills.

Knowledge & Experience
Preferred education/ qualifications:
• Academic background (minimum Bachelor): preferably in business administration or finance / procurement
Knowledge & Experience:
• Relevant experience in Procurement / Supply Chain / relevant Business
• Preferably experience working in a (team) leadership / management position
• Preferably experience in an international / multi-country / matrix environment
• Preferably experience in one (or more) of the Liberty Global Affiliates
• Demonstrable experience of working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, with a strong focus on customer service
Skills & Abilities:
• Excellent communication and networking skills
• Excellent change management skills to drive step improvement in entity’s capabilities within a global matrix structure that is relatively new to the LG organization
• Relates effectively to people at all levels of the organization and with the Supply base
• Knows when to push for a solution and how to win people’s commitment
• Can exert influence without formal authority across the business in a complex matrix organization
• Can-do mentality, pragmatic, drives for excellent results
• Able to articulate, advocate and work effectively at a senior level to build relationships, develop support, and advance the activities within the company
• Able to liaise effectively with executive vendor management and have contract negotiation skills covering complex agreements

Languages
• Fluency (oral & written) in English
