Job Summary:
The Systems Architect is the trusted advisor for both Linked Games Engineering and the Business leadership team. They are a results driven self-starter and will be responsible for syndicating and developing the target state vision and strategy for systems, processes, information and technologies. In addition to visioning, the role is responsible for working with the technology development teams to build out the appropriate roadmaps to iteratively develop the capabilities to achieve the desired target state. The strategies are expected to be fluid and evolve over time and the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring all artifacts remain relevant. The Systems Architect helps establish frameworks directing the design and build of technical solutions and provides on-going technical support and guidance to development teams.
Essential Job Functions:
• Defines in written documents non-functional requirements (availability, interoperability, portability, manageability, scalability, maintainability, security, monitoring, SLAs, KPIs, regulatory and legal compliance) based on business vision, best practices, and enterprise architecture direction.
• Conducts complex technology and system assessments for component architecture
• Acts as a lead in component architecture and participates in enterprise architecture activity
• Helps to define Enterprise level application and service architecture.
• Interface with hardware and software vendors to provide accurate and relevant solutions
• Work with and consult with systems, network, and software engineers and architects on designs and specifications
• Evaluate, establish, and maintain security policies for system elements; servers, appliances, and workstations
• Provides mentoring and training to the systems engineers
• Script/automate tasks. Maintain and improve efficiency of the infrastructure processes
• Design, implement, and effectively communicate systems architecture to various technical and non-technical groups both written and verbally.
• Monitor performance, security and scalability of systems.
• Configure and test systems to insure high availability and security.
• Work and consult with systems, network, and software engineers and architects on designs and specifications
• Understand the software deployments and their implications on existing and future system
• Performs tier IV escalation troubleshooting and support for internal and external customer networks conducting root cause analyses
• Provides management reports and position papers on emerging storage, server hardware, OS and security technologies
• Other tasks as assigned
Position Requirements
Qualifications
Training and/or Experience:
• 12+ years of design, planning, and supporting systems, applications or IT Architecture
• 3+ years architecting enterprise systems
Education:
• BS or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field (or commensurate experience)
• High level certifications within Microsoft (MCSE), VMWare (VCAP6-DCV) , and Cisco (CCNP/CCIE) technologies
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals and documents
• Expert in private cloud computing and Data Center virtualization using VMware (ESXi, vCenter, vCloud, vRealize, NSX)
• Experience in MS SQL, MySQL is required and good knowledge in query optimization and data analysis is desired
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft core infrastructure services, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, IAS/NPS, IIS, Clustering, and SMTP
• Able to work well independently and as a member of a team
• Have the ability to work in a fast paced, high volume and stressful environment
• Ability to work under general supervision
• Experience managing enterprise class storage arrays
• Advanced experience with storage protocols – SCSI, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, CiFS
• Experience with cross-platform administration (Windows and Linux administration experience required)
• Understanding of continuous integration processes, release management, application deployment
• Experience in systems and networking performance assessment (and tools)
• Expert in Windows server environments
• Advanced knowledge in Powershell scripting
• Advanced knowledge of IP sub netting, VLANs, and HA Architecture
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to obtain required gaming cards and licensing upon employment. A security investigation will be conducted. A drug test will be required before employment.
Physical Requirements:
Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, ability to distinguish colors. Ability to view computer monitors for extended periods.
