Job Description
Ubisoft, a global leader in the video games and entertainment software industry, is currently seeking a full-time Senior Financial Accountant for its Accounting Department. This position is responsible for Fixed Assets, Intercompany, Cash Management, and Inventory. The Sr. Accountant will be based in San Francisco and will report to the Accounting Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure accurate and detailed management of key accounts, schedules, and analyses, with timely records and proper source documentation
• Collaborate with the team to complete month end close
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
• Provide detailed flux and variance analysis for key balance sheet and income statement accounts on a monthly basis
• Assist with documentation and information required for year-end audit
• Work with the Accounting Manager and/or Controller on other ad-hoc analyses or projects as requested
• Prepare monthly accounting entries related to inventory, including adjustments, variances, shipments, and receipts
• Work closely with Operations department to review and investigate inventory exposure
• Ensure accuracy of inventory and inventory internal controls
• Ensure that purchased assets are depreciated according to GAAP requirements
• Assist with month-end close and annual budget process as it relates to fixed assets, leases and purchasing
• Drive the accounting team’s intercompany reconciliation and reporting initiatives – ensure proper GL account and department coding of all interco revenues, expenses and accruals
• Collaborate with France HQ to reconcile intercompany entries within PeopleSoft and Oracle HFM reporting systems for multiple business units
• Manage all domestic and foreign bank account reconciliations and be the point person for the monthly cash forecast deliverable for Ubisoft Treasury in France
• Facilitate the renewal/creation of process documentation for existing accounting procedures and policies. Draft narratives and flowcharts to be included in trainings for relevant personnel
• Proactive coordination with internal business partners, including but not limited to: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Finance (FP&A), and IT/Business Intelligence - communicate guidance for proper accounting principles/objectives and take initiative for improvement of current accounting processes
Qualifications
• Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA preferred or in progress)
• 4+ years combined experience in corporate accounting, or with a public accounting firm (Big Four strongly preferred)
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting concepts, US GAAP and IFRS, intercompany transactions, and experience with accounting research a plus
• Excellent command with Excel and manipulating large data sets is a must
• Prior experience with business intelligence software and ERP systems
• Strong quantitative analysis skillset, with the ability to read, analyze, interpret and explain complex financial data
• Be a self-starter, have a positive attitude, maintain a solution-oriented work ethic
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
• Motivated by new challenges, strive to be consistently learning and improving
• Ability to work dynamically with a variety of internal business partners (financial and non-financial personnel both within the US and abroad)
