GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Answer all incoming, administrative and guest lines, take messages, and beep all personnel who carry pagers, call 911 and assist in emergency situations. Radio dispatch/communications with other departments.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Includes, but is not limited to the following)
• Handle all telecommunications property wide.
• Must know property wide emergency dispatch procedures.
• Requires knowledge of events on property and city wide
• Responsible for Hotel guest services. i.e.: Voice mail/text messages, wake-up calls, guest security and confidentiality.
• Know all key personnel and titles.
• Log all telephone problems in NEC logbook, with location and problem noted.
• Take wake-up calls and log on personal wake-up sheet. Status all wake-up calls before the end of the shift and hand over to the Graveyard Supervisor.
• Explain procedures to guests when they need assistance.
• Read bulletin board daily.
• Update White Boards as needed.
• Regular and predictable attendance as required.
• Other job related duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Understand and comply with all Company and Departmental policies and procedures. Ability to operate office equipment such as telephone switchboard, computer, keyboard, mouse and printer. Responsible for proper attire, nametag and ID badge.
Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: High school education or equivalent preferred.
Experience: 1-year experience in a high volume PBX position.
Certificate/License: None required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office environment. Work may be performed in confined areas, which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky, dimly lit or brightly illuminated. May work alone, with others, verbal contact with others, include shift work and extended days. Work requires knowledge and use of electrical devices and computer equipment.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: (May be required in order to perform the essential functions of the position).Requires seldom standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending over, crouching, kneeling, climbing, repetitive use of non-dominant hand with light grasping and finger dexterity, lifting up to 25lbs.,frequent sitting, reaching, repetitive use of dominant hand, with light grasping and finger dexterity; use of office equipment, such as computer terminal, key-board, mouse, printer, telephone switchboard; perceive pertinent detail in verbal or tabular material; gathering, collating, or classifying information about data, people or things, reporting and/or carrying out a prescribed action in relation to the information is involved. Normal vision range is required. Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols, perform simple and complex tasks, to include reading, writing and math skills, perform clerical functions and coordination. Must be able to follow instructions, influence others, meet time requirements, memorize, problem solve and use independent judgment and decision making skills.
