Quartz is looking for a Director of Advertising Operations to oversee Quartz digital campaign implementation. This role will coordinate with internal stakeholders in editorial, product & development, and sales as well as outside vendors to successfully implement direct and indirect display, video and native campaigns. In this role, you will lead troubleshooting efforts for ad serving related issues and be responsible for providing thorough and accurate technical support to advertisers and vendors.
Responsibilities:
• Manage day to day responsibilities of the ad operations traffickers; ensure that traffickers are reaching their daily goals and successfully trafficking and implementing campaigns
• Provide pre and post implementation support to sales, planning and product & development teams.
• Maintain and manage site specifications to ensure meeting industry standards.
• Manage relationship with ad verification and scanning vendor to ensure onsite ad quality.
Troubleshooting and QA Management:
• Experience in troubleshooting of all ad types including display (desktop, tablet, mobile, in-app) and video (VAST/VPAID).
• Ability to debug ad calls, log any creative or tag issues and communicate this back to in-house teams or 3rd party vendors.
• Familiarity with HMTL, HTML5, Javascript, iFrames, and developer tools such as Chrome developer tools, Charles, Fiddler, Firebug, etc.
• Previous experience with 3rd party vendors such as Doubleclick, Sizmek,, Flite, Atlas, Flashtalking, IAS/Adsafe, etc.
Programmatic Strategy & Management:
• Oversee and nurture programmatic vendor relationships from sourcing, to on-boarding through activation.
• Provide regular updates to larger revenue operations team on partner capabilities and enhancements.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting support to Programmatic Operations.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, vendor offerings, and competitor capabilities.
• Educate the larger sales and rev ops teams on these trends. Ensure learnings are being shared and acted upon across all units of the business.
• Manage market research and assessment on new product opportunities. Facilitate introductions to partners who provide a solution for our revenue operations need.
• Attend conferences quarterly to network with vendors and industry contacts.
Requirements:
• Experience in ad serving and ad management technologies such as Doubleclick for Publishers (DFP-Premium), AdX, and/or FatTail AdBook.
• Strong project management and communication skills
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with an ability to collaborate across departments
• An ability to prioritize, troubleshoot issues both independently and with your team, and work with “grace under fire”
• BA/BS required
