HDM’s Enthusiast Group is seeking a Membership Director to join HDM’s Development and Strategic Partnerships team. This person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of creating, deepening, expanding, and monetizing the connection between Bicycling and Runner’s World and the enthusiasts who pursue those passions. This includes the origination, planning, creation, outreach, distribution, tending, and iteration of projects that connect the brands to the community, from magazine subscriptions to digital touchpoints to events and limited-edition merchandise. The Membership Director will work closely with our Editorial Director, Chief Enthusiasts, Director of Content Operations, and strategic leaders at HDM (from search to merch to marketing). The ideal candidate combines creative superpowers with razor-sharp strategic instincts and embraces metric-driven creativity while maintaining brand authenticity throughout all materials and initiatives.
The role is based in New York City.
Responsibilities:
• Work with the Group Editorial Director, Director of Content Operations, Chief Enthusiasts and strategic leaders to originate, plan and produce profitable connectivity with our passionate communities of enthusiasts
• Work with search, membership, affiliate, social and other departments to establish, understand, and execute against continually changing content performance metrics
• Establish a presence and maintain staff relationships in both the New York City and Lehigh Valley offices of the Enthusiast Group
Qualifications:
• 5+ years experience in content creation, communications, branding, or related fields
• 5+ years experience in a strategic digital position, with active lifestyle or enthusiast experience a plus
• Must be able to manage feedback from multiple parties and deal with fast-changing priorities
• Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
• Must be able to work flexible hours as needed
