Taylor Communications is seeking a Production Supervisor to work in our West Sacramento, CA location. This position will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, planning, and controlling production operators as assigned; may include Bindery, Print, Insert both Machine/Hand or production service operators. To ensure meeting plant goals in Quality, Productivity, Waste Shortages and on Time Deliveries, and to ensure disbursement of materials for production requirements.
Shift Available:
• Monday – Friday and some weekends
• 1st shift 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
Responsibilities Include:
• Establishes quality, waste shortage and production goals in cooperation with the other supervisors and manager.
• Assigns operators to utilize maximum efficiency from the employees and machines under their direction.
• Promotes and establishes a teamwork environment that is conducive to achieving or surpassing all group goals through a program of employee participation and effective leadership.
• Maintains and reviews productivity, quality, waste, shortage and attendance results with each employee on a regular basis using corrective action or positive reinforcement as needed.
• Responsible for the adequate training and reliable performance of all personnel assigned to the group, formulates and implements measures to improve performance.
• Recommends the selection, termination, promotion, and classification of those employees under his/her direction.
• Implements and monitors approved policies and procedures with feedback to Production Manager and Human Resources Manager. Recommends changes when necessary.
• Responsible for the safety and housekeeping of equipment, equipment guards, operators and operator’s work areas under his/her supervision.
• Furnishes production manager nightly/weekly/monthly reports of operator performance, OTD, and update status reports of project or assigned projects.
• Responsible to maintain equipment in good mechanical condition. Recommends plans for equipment improvements or overhauls, coordinates routine maintenance work through OEM Service contracts and assists technicians in preventive maintenance programs.
• Cooperates with other departments, both production and staff in the area of Human Resources affirmative action and customer relations.
• Responsible for any special project assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Good communication skills
• Decision making skills
• Self-directed
• Always looking for continuous improvement
• Minimum of 3 years related experience
• Must have thorough knowledge of all equipment, operations, procedure and policies of the production department.
• Must cooperate with other departments in meeting established objectives to produce a product at the lowest cost, while maintaining on time delivery, directing subordinates to accomplish established goals.
• Needs a strong working knowledge of computers and programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (Business Management)
