Job Title
Ad Production Intern
Meredith Corporation has an opportunity for a motivated student pursuing a Marketing, Advertising or Promotion related career to work with the flow of print and digital (tablet) advertising materials from external agencies/advertisers to the Meredith Content Center and/or external vendors. The intern will work closely with Meredith Production Managers, Ad Operations, and Sales to verify and prepare production instructions related to advertising.
Essential Job Functions | Accountabilities, Actions and Measurable Results
60% - Request, collect, and track all advertising in assigned Meredith publications/digital entities. Serve as control person for the collection of information relating to identification and processing of advertising units. Respond to and track any material extensions in accordance with the schedule. Prepare work instructions to accompany units through production by utilizing SendMyAd, Content Station and/or other software when applicable.
20% - Quality check ad files/materials by following quality check processes established for print and digital editions.
15% - Verify correct materials are released/assigned according to instructions. Respond to and track any material extensions in accordance with schedule.
5% - Participate in department/team project initiatives. Provide ongoing feedback to Team Leads and Director to ensure workflow best practices are modified to reflect procedural and/or technology changes. Provide individual monthly reporting on assigned work.

Provide external and internal customer service in a professional and courteous manner. Provide assistance and backup to team members to balance peak production periods.

Education:
Junior or senior currently enrolled in a Marketing, Business Communications or related program. Recent graduates will also be considered.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and have the ability to track and monitor a high volume of materials effectively. Knowledge of print and digital file workflow and ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers required. Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and express thoughts and ideas clearly. Excellent telephone / customer relations skills. Strong PC skills and knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to manage proofing equipment.
