Essential Duties:
The Guest Services Supervisor is responsible for ensuring guests, clients and employees of the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) receive World Class Service upon every visit. Additionally, this supervisor is responsible for the performance and conduct of all guest service employees assigned to various shifts, assignments and events. The supervisor reports directly to the Guest Services Manager
1. Monitors the performance and conduct of all guest services employees. Is responsible for providing exceptional guest service at all LACC events through pre-event planning. Must work in a professional, cooperative and service focused manner with both external and internal clients of LACC.
2. Responsible for the quality and accuracy of all logs and reports generated. Conducts internal investigations when necessary. Is responsible for assisting the Guest Services Manager with developing and updating the departmental policies and procedures manual.
3. This position will also manage the found property, equipment and uniform inventories of both the Guest Services and Security Departments.
4. Comply, implement and adhere to all legal & ethical instructions given by AEG Corporate and LACC Executive Management. Responsible for creating & conducting on-going in-service training for guest service employees. Other duties can be assigned when necessary by Guest Services Management.
Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):
1. Minimum education level of: High School Diploma (Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
2. At least 2 years’ experience supervising a team. (Guest Service experience preferred)
3. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a sports, entertainment and/or convention facility preferred.
4. Minimum of 1 year experience staffing/planning in a sports, entertainment or convention setting.
5. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes evenings, weekends and holidays.
6. Ability to pass a criminal background check, employment verification, and drug screening.
7. Ability to accept responsibility for the performance & conduct of their direct reports.
8. Ability to represent AEG, LACC and the Guest Services Department in an exemplary manner.
9. Ability to exhibit leadership qualities, motivate staff & lead by example.
10. Ability to maintain good business relations with all employees, guests, clients and service providers.
11. Ability to effectively manage crisis and work under pressure without loss of composure.
12. Ability to interact effectively and calmly with angry or emotional guests, clients and employees.
13. A good understanding of the guest services roles in a facility environment.
14. Ability to create, implement, and present training materials to all LACC employees.
15. Ability to stand for long periods of time while providing assistance to guests.
