The Vice President, Finance will be a key member of the local office leadership and corporate finance team, and is responsible for leading all accounting and finance functions for Gingerbread Shed, a technology and services company specializing in ticketing, festivals, and ecommerce. The candidate will lead a team of finance and accounting professionals in all activities related to budget, forecasting, event/client settlement, financial analysis, and merchant processing activities. The position is responsible for ensuring the company meets all financial objectives, complies with corporate procedures, and reports according to generally accepted accounting principles.
Job Duties:
1. Direct, coordinate, and execute annual budgets and monthly reforecasts for use within location and for reporting to corporate
2. Perform and supervise (staff) all accounting cycles of business including revenue and AR, expenses and AP, collections, capital expenditures, cash management, and vendor approvals.
3. Perform and supervise accurate, up to date books, and monthly closes
4. Recommend benchmarks for measuring financial and operating performance. Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget. Manage the preparation of all financial reports, outlooks, and forecasts.
5. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure company financial objectives are met and compliance with financial process and procedure.
6. Manage processes and ensure accuracy and accountability in client/event settlement
7. Manage and supervise merchant account operations, including card processing configurations, reconciliations, fraud, chargebacks, and merchant best practices.
8. Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and sales activities. Work with key stakeholders to develop and deliver key performance metric reporting.
9. Ensure compliance with local, stage, and federal budgetary, accounting, audit, and financial reporting requirements, including tax, GAAP, PCI, S.O.C, and other corporate controls.
10. Provide leadership and vision for company’s internal and client level suite of reporting tools
Required Qualifications
1. A minimum education level of: Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree (4-year) in Finance/Accounting (Advanced Degree/MBA preferred)
2. At least 10+ years of experience in financial management, corporate controller, or business operations
3. In depth knowledge of financial principles and key business indicators and metrics
4. Experience with large ERP systems, such as JDE, Oracle, etc.
5. CPA license required
6. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
7. Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
8. Ability to motivate teams, self-start, deliver value, and work on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal direction.
9. Ability to develop, enhance, and evolve processes and procedures. Strong operational finance background
10. Ability to communicate to finance and operational upper/executive management.
Preferred Qualifications (if applicable):
1. Experience in the ticketing and/or entertainment industry
2. Experience in an e-commerce, service driven environment
