Video Producer (VRV)

The Role:
At VRV, our audience represents a passionate and eclectic group of individuals that deeply love a variety of entertainment including anime, animation, gaming, science fiction, horror, and so much more. This hire should be a proven and capable editor, understand the VRV target audience, have a relationship with our content and engaging online video, and offer a creative perspective. We are working hard to build a VRV community - and this Editor role will allow us to launch original video that brings our brand voice to life and engage our fans around the content they love.
The Video Producer will manage original video production for VRV and it’s associated social accounts. This role requires experience with internet and short form video production, as well as familiarity with the YouTube platform and culture. The Video Producer conceptualizes, produces and shoots content on a daily basis. Working under our Senior Producer, the team will look to you on managing the daily aspects of regular shoots, working with talent and managing shooting shooting schedules. The ideal candidate can work independently, take direction, and has a native interest in fandom communities and content creation. Strong teamwork and project management skills, along with attention to detail, are key.

Responsibilities:
• Manage production, shooting and publishing of weekly videos
• Expertise with camera, lighting, audio, and other production equipment
• Ability to handle all aspects of video production (lighting, camera, sound, post-production)
• Research, identify and pitch relevant topics and related genres
• Coordinate talent, guests and set
• Collaborate with talent and editors to create polished final products
• Work closely with Senior Producer, Host/Writer and Editor to coordinate production schedules and strategy
• Lead field shoots as needed
• Prepare media assets including content clips, music, graphics, photos, as needed
• Process and edit footage as needed
• Review performance of content on YouTube, social media, etc. to optimize for better results
• Stay current with VRV content and audience preferences
Additional Considerations:
• 3-5 years experience in online video production and/or shooting
• Demonstrated interest in fandom communities
• Fluent with Adobe Premiere and the greater Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
