The Assistant General Manager is responsible for ensuring that team members are trained and well prepared to provide a seamless interactive and exciting experience for our patrons. The ideal candidate has relevant experience in an amusement park, children’s or other museums, retail, arts, live event, or hospitality setting.
Essential Job Functions
• Assist GM in overseeing permitting and interacting with local authorities. Ensure operation is always compliant with local ordinances and permitting requirements.
• Assist in the overall leadership and direction resulting in a superior guest experience satisfaction. Promptly respond and follow-up on all guest concerns.
• Manage and oversee crowd control and flow of the Experience.
• Manage physical venue/facility to ensure proper maintenance and repair.
• Assist GM in managing exhibit and facility to ensure proper maintenance and repair including scenic, audio visual equipment, and all other mechanical components.
• Ensure ticketing/box office systems and equipment are operating properly. Maintain adequate level of supplies, including ticket stock, will call envelopes, etc.
• Ensure inventory/supplies are stocked for each zone, including makeup, photo supplies, hair accessories and scrap booking material, will also be responsible for reporting order needs to GM.
• Participate in preparing annual budgets, in conjunction with GM and corporate office.
• Prepare and organize work schedules for employees to ensure that the appropriate number of staff are on duty during every given shift. Includes scheduling and approving time-off and breaks, verifying hours worked, and approving submitted hours in timekeeping system.
• Provide continuous direction, support, feedback, and coaching to direct reports and staff to ensure consistency and compliance to company standards throughout the exhibit.
• Develop direct reports by communicating performance expectations and preparing/conducting timely performance appraisals.
• Provide employee conflict resolution in a positive, effective manner. Follow company guidelines for discipline/terminations.
• Actively participate in the recruitment strategy and efforts for management and Team Member positions.
• Ensure that all special events are executed properly to the Company’s standards.
• Responsible for following and administering the rules, regulations and guidelines set forth by “Feld Entertainment, Inc.” best practices as they pertain to the Experience.
• Continually seek to improve the operational efficiency of the Experience.
• Must have basic knowledge of Trolls Brand.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory role in a museum, retail, arts, live event, or hospitality setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Excellent time management; must possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Superior customer services.
• Ability to work under pressure with a heightened sense of urgency.
• Ability prioritize duties for effective and successful events.
• Availability to work extended hours, holidays and weekends dependent upon business demands.
• Must be dedicated, reliable and punctual.
• Demonstrate positive and professional behavior towards clients and co-workers at all times.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and be a team player.
