Job Summary:
Serve as the testing lead for Programming and Playout. Lead efforts to automate, standardize and streamline testing for all Programming and Playout products.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, review, optimize test plans and test cases to ensure on time/quality delivery of new IT projects.
• Defining test strategies across multiple products to allow for standardization.
• Build, execute and maintain automated test suites with focus on high coverage and short test cycles.
• Triage and investigate bugs across multiple applications and teams.
• Establish a structured test methodology, leveraging modern test frameworks.
• Apply test experience to optimize production smoke testing and Application Performance Management.
• Continuously improve test processes and suggest improvements to how software is designed and built.
• Provide clear test status reporting, including error trends and coverage.
• Actively participate in agile software development teams and provide test thought leadership in scrum teams.
• Lead and develop a team of SDETs through coaching and training.
• Continuous Tool evaluation to ensure we are meeting industry standards.
Qualifications:
• Articulate a testing and quality assurance vision, leveraging automation, CI/CD and modern test tools and methodologies.
• Enforce the adherence to high software quality standards across multiple teams while ensuring projects launch on time.
• Establish a data-driven culture and a repeatable, structured and disciplined approach to the full testing lifecycle.
• Correlate facts, data, trends to triage and find issues and predict quality trends.
• Leverage open source software to reduce/eliminate software licensing costs.
• Lead testers and manage peers through influence.
• Retain and hire top talent, build a coherent and organized team focused on employee satisfaction.
• Clearly communicate the status of projects and applications to both IT and Business Stakeholders.
• Project and program management, planning and organizational skills.
• Test Case Tool management such as Zephyr.
• Proficiency in at one of the following: Selenium, Cucumber, or Gatling.
• Proficiency in a scripting language such as Groovy or Scala.
Experience:
• 3+ years leading software testing teams of at least 3 people.
• 3+ years of experience delivering test automation in an agile software organization.
