Director/Executive Director, Marketplace Strategy, Vogue
The Director, Marketplace Strategy helps inform the marketing strategy for Vogue across all platforms, including positioning and key objectives. Utilizing the latest trends and insights, the Director will reinforce Vogue’s relevance in the fashion, luxury, beauty and advertising communities and identify new marketing opportunities that increase revenue across each of Vogue’s marketable platforms.
Primary emphasis is on building and packaging the topline strategy for each marketing plan and guiding the business “story” that is being communicated by the sales team. The individual will have a keen grasp on research and analytics to create category and brand insights as well as marketing opportunities that are informed by audience and trend data. This person will work closely with the brand marketing team to create brand positioning, vision and new opportunities. In addition, the Director will liaise with Research/Audience Insights team to initiate research, obtain strategic knowledge, and translate findings to actionable strategies.
Responsibilities:
• Develop brand positioning, shaping the marketplace story for the Vogue brand and key franchises
• Leverage overall marketplace trends and consumer insights to inform new marketing strategies and opportunities
• Work with key internal constituents enhance strategic positioning of custom programs and marketing plans
• Together with the research group identify ways to quantitatively and qualitatively reinforce the value of Vogue campaigns and programs
Basic Qualifications:
• 5+ years holding marketing or insights positions within top-tier media companies
• Undergraduate degree
• Strong business and personal ethics
• Proven leader with demonstrated experience in creative strategy and strategic partnerships
• Effectively manages multiple projects in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
• Analytical thinking and ability to read and translate data into actionable insights
• Strong presentation abilities to build consensus around strategic objectives and project plans
• Exceptional writing skills as well as creating creative presentation documents
