JOB SUMMARY
The Spectrum Director of Direct Marketing – SMBleads the planning, implementation and analysis for direct marketing initiatives within the small to medium sized business market. Responsible for the flawless execution of direct mail campaigns from inception through post campaign analysis.
Requires a successful track record of managing direct marketing projects, strong project management skills, and a solid understanding of marketing to small and medium sized businesses.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborate with the business strategy, direct marketing, database and creative teams to recommend, develop and execute business to business direct mail campaigns that are effective, on time, and on budget.
• Leverage post campaign analysis to identify campaign effectiveness and make recommendations for improved messaging, segmentation, formatting and timing.
• Manage direct marketing campaigns and test cycles for customer acquisition and upgrades from inception through post campaign analysis.
• Forecast direct marketing performance, identify opportunities to improve results, enhance contact strategy or extend reach. Meet or outperform defined response targets for direct marketing programs inclusive of acquisition and customer upgrade.
• Build, manage, and report on expense budget.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
• Expertise in direct marketing (especially direct mail) with knowledge of production processes, key performance metrics and measurement methodologies
• Strong attention to detail balanced with the ability to think strategically
• Highly developed capacity for teamwork and a strong focus on the customer
• Exceptional leadership, communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and develop recommendations autonomously
• Ability to manage all phases of multiple projects from beginning to end with sufficient autonomy
• Ability to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties in a fast paced environment
• Ability to analyze and interpret data to make recommendations based on analysis and expertise
• Ability to work well with people from all levels of the organization, many different disciplines and varying degrees of technical and business experience
• Ability to make decisions and resolve problems while working under pressure
• Ability to manage and foster change
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related discipline and/or an equivalent experience
Related Work Experience
10+ years of experience in Direct marketing experience to include
8+ yearsof experience in Marketing management
8+ years of experience in Project Management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of cable television, high speed Internet and phone products and services preferred
Experience marketing to small and medium businesses preferred
