Description
The Project Manager – Personalized Content & Discovery is accountable for the success of key initiatives in support of TiVo’s Search, Recommendations, Analytics, and Conversation Products. Our business and development cycles are fast-paced, challenging and always shifting to respond to the dynamic marketplace as well as our customers’ needs. We’re looking for someone to ensure that the tasks and activities necessary to develop, launch and maintain their assigned projects within our portfolio are well planned and executed.
The Project Manager motivates, leads and drives cross-functional teams to successful delivery. They ensure clarity in roles and responsibilities, project goals and measures of success as well as validate project assumptions, proactively and assertively mitigates risk, and ensure adherence to TiVo’s established delivery methodologies. The position involves extensive customer (internal and external) contact, collaboration with multiple functional groups across the company and within our customers’ organizations.
The Project Manager is expected to:
• Be self-motivated and organized
• Be able to operate independently and with minimal direction
• Absorb a deluge of raw data and separate the noise from the important details
• Function as a liaison between business and technical stakeholders (internally and externally)
• Be able to effectively manage multiple, concurrent projects, with an ability to adjust to shifting schedules, priorities, and time demands quickly and calmly
• Be proficient with MS Project, Microsoft Office, project and defect management systems (e.g., JIRA)
• Operate within an agile/scrum environment
• Be detail- and process-oriented and highly organized
• Have exceptional communication skills: written, verbal, and listening
• Anticipate customer needs and strive to continually improve customer satisfaction
• Share objectives and collaborate across locations and functions to deliver outstanding results
• Take ownership of personal and team commitments
• Keep a cool head when faced with uncertainty, ambiguity and shifting priorities
• Grasp technology easily and be able to learn and disseminate new information quickly
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works with project sponsors to define realistic project goals, objectives, and measures of success;
• Uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, schedules, risks, issues, assumptions, and changes;
• Acts as a single point of contact for project status;
• Manages project status and information in the form of formal briefings, project update meetings, and written, electronic, and graphic reports;
• Develops, maintains, and manages detailed program and project schedules, action item registers, and major milestone timelines for all assigned programs and projects;
• Develops and maintains all required planning documents including: Project Plans, Communication Plans, Deployment Plans, Documentation Plans, Risk Mitigation Plans, and Committed Schedules;
• Manages all assigned programs and projects to completion ensuring on-time delivery and meeting budgetary demands;
• Facilitates and leads project meetings;
• Addresses problems through risk management and contingency planning and presents solutions and/or options to executive management;
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering or Business and/or equivalent related work experience is required. Advanced Degrees and Additional Training and other certifications are beneficial.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: At least 6+ years demonstrated experience leading cross-functional/matrix organizations in the successful implementation and delivery of large, complex, dynamic and technical solutions. Must have experience managing software development projects. Experience in customer service, working directly with customers and/or other vendors is required. Demonstrated increase in responsibilities year over year. History of working with distributed or global teams. Familiarity with entertainment space/products is desirable, but not required. TRAVEL: Limited travel may be required.
