JOB DESCRIPTION
The Finance Coordinator will provide administrative support to National Geographic’s publishing divisions. Specifically, the Finance Coordinator will assist business operations teams in the facilitation of vendor onboarding, AP transactions, A/R customer set-ups, purchase order and requisition administration, cash application, and other financial tasks.
Responsibilities
• Work with business operations to obtain vendor onboarding documents and ensure accuracy and completion. Navigate the onboarding system for both customers and suppliers, setting up vendor profiles, securing additional validations and following through to completion. Research A/P queries and successfully maneuver Workday, gathering accounting information as requested.
• Administer purchase orders and requisitions in Workday; ensure proper set-up and coding is applied. Track project costs and capital expenditures in accordance with company policy. Work with accounting teams on month-end when necessary.
• Research and provide data for monthly queries, budget updates, and audit and advisory requests. Maintain effective and professional communication with independent contractors.
• Work with Accounting to ensure revenue and expense are properly coded in the GL.
• Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; 1+ years of relevant work experience.
• Inventory experience is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in a second language a plus.
• Must be familiar with Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel); knowledge of Workday a plus; Experience with expense tracking programs such as Expensify, Concur, or Neat Receipts a plus.
• Self-starter, detail-oriented; Strong quantitative and problem solving skills; Ability to multi-task, work independently and meet deadlines.
