Job purpose
This position will be responsible for a variety of duties related to SEC reporting and related activities as described in more detail below. Responsible for management of a small staff of junior accountants.
Key Accountabilities
• Responsible for the preparation of certain sections of the Company’s 10-Q and 10-K as assigned, including preparation more complex areas of the financial statements, footnotes, management discussions and analysis, business discussion and other required information
• Responsible for the review of certain work papers that support certain section of the Company’s 10-Q and 10-K, and review of related 10-Q/10-K disclosures
• Responsible for the management of one direct report senior accountant
• Take lead ownership role in the preparation and coordination and issuance of certain bank reports
• Prepare and edit other SEC reports as required, including preparation of pro forma information, capitalization, dilution, and ratio of earnings to fixed charges and other required financial information. Assist in the filing of various 8-Ks, as required
• Coordinate with foreign operations to provide US GAAP quarterly and annual financial information for consolidations and reports
• Facilitate and support of independent annual audits and quarterly reviews of the Company’s financial records
• Prepare complex work papers and schedules relative to the Company’s consolidated financial statements and other reporting requirements. Responsible for the review of certain work papers prepared by junior accountants
• Provide support to investor relations group with respect to earnings releases and investor presentations, as needed
• Conduct research of other public companies
• Provide mentoring and development of a small staff of accountants
• Maintain control environment documented for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance as it relates to reporting
Knowledge & Experience
Preferred education/ qualifications:
• 4 year college degree. Emphasis in Accounting required. CPA preferred
• 5+ years combined Public accounting (Big 4) and industry experience preferred
Knowledge & Experience:
• Experience with SEC reporting
• Strong written and oral communication skills and spreadsheet skills
• Experience with Hyperion Financial Management and Workiva is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work in a complex and demanding environment
