Job Description
Role Summary:
This senior level management position is responsible for providing the strategic and operational direction necessary to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This position will oversee financial functional areas including Accounting, Payroll, Labor Optimization, Ticket Office Operations, Cash Control, Loss Prevention and Information Systems.
Key Duties
and Responsibilities:
• Provide direction and planning for financial analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash control, ticket processing, payroll processing, loss prevention and information services.
• Ensure the accurate and timely reporting to Corporate of all financial information created, including balance sheet, P&L's, capital reports, budgets, forecasts, etc.
• Manage the cash management functions for the park, including negotiating payment terms with vendors, timely receivable collection, and reviewing and signing all checks issued by the park.
• Oversee all financial and finance related operational systems in the park.
• Manage and direct the annual budgeting process for the entire park to ensure fair and proper allocation of resources between departments.
• Manage and direct the forecast process, including monthly meetings with each department to ensure accuracy and reasonableness of the forecasts.
• Provide leadership for all departments to control expenses.
• Provide financial management and consultation for other park departments.
• Assist in the negotiation of leases and contracts as needed.
• Interface with and support the Marketing and Revenue Divisions to ensure successful implementation of all initiatives, including special projects.
• Responsible for the creation and maintenance of the operating budget for the Park President / Corporate.
• Provide leadership and development to staff to ensure productivity.
• Provide strategic input to Park President with regard to park direction and long range planning.
• Responsible for maintaining all Six Flags' standards and enforcing all park policies and procedures.
• Advise and assist the Park President on projects as they arise.
The Ideal Candidate must possess:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA or MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in financial management w/knowledge of theme park financial operations and systems preferred.
• Experience driving budgeting and forecast process required.
• Excellent written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Must possess strong leadership and motivational skills.
• Detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects within deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
