The Evaluation Systems group of Pearson works with multiple partners, including other Pearson groups, to develop and maintain highly scalable Web applications. These applications share information between Pearson groups, customers, and clients. Development and testing follow the agile methodology.

Position Summary
The Senior Business Analyst is a key facilitator that works closely with internal and external stakeholders, department and program leads, and software development teams who displays a passion for leading and delivering business value through customer experiences, systems analysis and software implementation.As an integral team member of the IT organization, the Senior Business Analyst serves as a primary liaison between business units and IT, and is responsible for driving necessary business communication.
The Senior Business Analyst leads the effort of defining software requirements and ensures that requirements are written unambiguously, clearly and concisely such that they are implementable, understandable, testable and traceable by a software team. The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for evaluating business drivers and technology requirements for assessment products and applications, and defines complex systems strategies and specifications tailored to meet business requirements.A strong desire to understand current and future business needs at a detailed level is required to be successful in this role. In this capacity, the Senior Analyst is also a leader for change and process improvement.
The Senior Business Analyst will:
Work with business users and stakeholders including management, project managers, client services program teams, and business support staff to:· Organize and facilitate project-related meetings and sessions, including to elicit and confirm requirements.· Communicate using a variety of methods such as text, diagrams, prototypes, story mapping, user stories and use cases· Negotiate and resolve requirement conflicts· Prepare and deliver system specifications to applications development teams.· Work closely with IT application development personnel, working effectively in multiple delivery models (onsite, outsource, offshore), as appropriate.· Provide estimates for and coordinate project requirements-related activities and schedules.
Additionally, for some projects the Senior Business Analyst may:· Work closely with Project Manager, providing input into effort estimating, project planning and scheduling. May act as project lead for some projects.· Contribute to creation of test cases to ensure requirements and user scenarios are being adequately tested and acceptance criteria is appropriate.· Work with publications and communications groups with authoring and/or proofreading end user documentation as needed.· Perform or assist with in acceptance testing, training, operational readiness activities, and support to ensure a complete application service is successfully delivered to the business.
Required Experience:· Bachelor degree in a Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, technical discipline or equivalent technical work experience.· Seasoned IT professional with a minimum of 2 years business analysis experience.· Experience with software requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation, and requirements confirmation and management, including in an agile environment.· Experience with web-based systems.
Skills and Desired Experience:· Proven ability to quickly learn new business domains and technical applications.· Strong technical, conceptualization, analytic, and communication skills including the ability to facilitate interactive sessions with business/functional personnel.· Proven ability to navigate several projects with different solution teams at once.· Ability to work with senior management and a variety of business users including technical and non-technical staff.· Motivated, self-directed and able to prioritize.· Ability to work effectively in teams, including instances where teams span multiple business units, locations or countries, and/or utilizes 3rd-party (offshore) resources.· Experience with agile software tools such as Rally or Visual Studio Team Services (TFS) preferred.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
